As much as I’m all about breaking down barriers, and ditching eggs and dairy, I also keep a watchful eye on desserts of the past. Can the two be combined? I believe they can… I collect old cook books (and am lucky enough to have a couple that are 70+ years old), and look to the recipes of our amazing grandmother’s and great-grandmother’s for inspiration.
Do you use Pinterest? I swear, I could get lost in there for hours! One minute I’m checking out the latest in DIY deodorants (and yes, I totally make my own), and the next thing I know, I’m being sucked into the vortex of holistic home remedies! That’s why I limit myself, just enough time to get some “pinspiration”, but not enough time to wonder what happened to my day.

We have officially entered into summer. I don’t know what it’s like in your neck of the woods, but so far my summer has been more hazy (and rainy) than lazy. Not that I’m complaining, I think that we established here that the dog days of summer aren’t exactly my favourite. But I had all these no-bake treats planned out, to save you from your oven, and I have a sinking suspicion that they’re going to run out just as the heat kicks in.
It’s been a long time since I last shared a chocolate chip cookie recipe with you. Which is funny because they’re my favourite thing to bake and I’m always making them. So I figured you were long overdue… *Eh-hem*… and I had some sandwich cookies to use up. So win-win!
